It was a few Discourses of the Buddha that inspired us for this project. One of the notable Discourses was Apaṇṇakasutta of the Majjhimanikāya. This Discourse teaches us the way to avoid unpleasant circumstances resulting from the confrontation with varieties of religious views. This Discourse represents the ‘incontrovertible practice’, the practical means to overcome conflicts in the presence of contradictory opinions. The principle is based on the observation of the more fruitful and right position from many views including those which cannot be personally verified and disapproving the extreme position that ‘one’s own view is right and all else is false’. The name of this website ‘saddhammasaññatti’, a term occurring in the same Discourse means the ‘True Conviction’ based on friendly attitude towards the other holding different opinions.
Another Discourse of no less important is the Sandakasutta of the Majjhimanikāya which differentiates between religious positions that can be regarded as religions and those that are otherwise. The Discourse encourages us to admire whatever fruitful and beneficial of other religions though they principally differ.
We cannot ignore the famous Kālāmasutta. This sutta not only leads us to critical and independent thinking but also to be open to many fruitful virtues and teachings.

බුදු සමයට මෙන්ම අනෙකුත් ආගම්වලට ද අදාළ දේශන, සාකච්ඡා හා වෙනත් යහපත් දෑ මෙම වෙබ් අඩවිය ඔබ හමුවට ගෙන එයි. සද්ධම්මසඤ්ඤත්ති පර්යේෂණාත්මක හා ශාස්ත්‍රීය වෙබ් අඩවියක් ලෙස හැඳින්විය හැකිය.
මෙම ප්‍රයත්නය සඳහා අපගේ සිත්සතන් ප්‍රබෝධමත් කරන ලද්දේ බුද්ධ භාෂිත සූත්‍ර දේශනා කිහිපයකි. ඒ අතර මජ්ක‍ධිමනිකායේ අපණ්ණක සූත්‍රය ප්‍රමුඛ වෙයි. විවිධ ආගමික අදහස් හමුවෙහි ඇතිවිය හැකි අප්‍රසන්න තත්වයන් මගහරවා ගෙන කටයුතු කළ යුතු අයුරු මෙම සූත්‍රය අපට පෙන්වා දෙයි. අවිරුද්ධක ප්‍රතිපදාව හෙවත් විවිධ මතවාද හා පිළිගැනීම් නිසා නොගැටී සිටීමේ පිළිවෙත ලෙස නම් කළ හැකි ප්‍රතිපත්තියක් මෙහි ඉගැන්වෙන අතර එහි මූලධර්ම නම් තීරණය කළ නොහැකි කරුණු සම්බන්ධයෙන් හැමවිටම වඩා අර්ථසම්පන්න හා ඵලදායී මතයෙහි එල්බ ගැනීම, ස්වකීය පිළිගැනීම පමණක් නිරවද්‍යය යන අන්තගාමීත්වයට නොපැමිණීම හා ස්වකීය පිළිගැනීම වෙන අයෙකුට ඒත්තු ගැන්වීමට උත්සාහ කරන්නේ තමා හුවා දක්වමින් අන්‍යයන් අවමානයට ලක් නොකිරීම යනාදියයි.
මෙම වෙබ් අඩවිය නම්කොට ඇති සද්ධම්මසඤ්ඤත්ති යන යෙදුමෙහි අර්ථය වන්නේ ඉතා යහපත් හා නිරවද්‍යයි ප්‍රත්‍යක්ෂවූ දර්ශනය පවා පැහැදිලි කොට දැක්වීමේ දී පවත්වා ගත යුතු සුහද-ශීලී ඉවසිලි මත් බවයි.
අපගේ නොමද අවධානයට ලක් වූ වෙනත් බුද්ධ දේශනාවක් නම් සන්දක සූත්‍රයයි. පරිපූර්ණ වශයෙන් තෘප්තිමත් විය නොහැකි මුත් ආගමික පිළවෙතක් ලෙස අගය කළ හැකි මෙන් ම කිසිසේත් ආගමික ප්‍රතිපදාවක් ලෙස නම් නොකළ යුතු ඉගැන්වීම් කවරේදැයි මෙම සූත්‍රය උගන්වයි. බෞද්ධයෙකුට ස්වකීය පිළිගැනීමට අනුව එකඟ විය නොහැකි ආගමික ඉගැන්වීමක යම් යහපත් අංග අගය කිරීමට ඇති හැකියාව මෙම සූත්‍ර දේශනාවෙන් තහවුරු කෙරෙයි.
බෞද්ධ සභ්‍යත්වයෙහි විචාරශීලී බවට හා නිදහස් චින්තනයට මග පෙන්වන කාලාම සූත්‍රය වැලිත් අනේකවිධ ඵලදායී ඉගැන්වීන්වීම් හා සාරධර්ම කෙරෙහි විවෘත වීමෙහි ලා අප නිරන්තරයෙන් මෙහෙයවයි.
